Discover the next generation of oral health: Launching soon!

So today we are launching a new oral and health wellness category. We presented yesterday, for the first time, our new drink, SmileSip. A sachet sachet form. You just pop your powder in your water and you've got on the go oral health.

With SmileSip, we talk about five in one benefits. So those benefits being prevention, hydration, freshen, neutralise, and relieve. Before I go into those further, I'll just mention that I'm a dentist. So I wanted to create something that I could actually recommend to my patients. Not only a drink that they can consume on the go as a, an alternative for sugary and acidic drinks, but something that also had an oral health and functional benefit. So when I talk about prevention, I'm talking about preventing dental decay. Preventing erosion from the acids that we consume in our food and drink. Freshening the mouth. So literally cleaning the mouth on the go. So instead of having to consume things like tooth toothpaste that you're going to spit out chewing gum or mouthwash that you're going to have to spit out if you're wanting to freshen on the go.

This is a drink that you can just sip through the day and it's going to do, give you those benefits as well. It's helping to neutralise the acids in the mouth. Acids from the food and drink that we're consuming, which in turn are going to have an effect on our enamel. And also helping to relieve the mouth from things like ulcers. Many people are prone to those. But providing oral health and moisturizing the mouth, particularly for those people that do suffer from that, either because of medications or medical conditions or as we age. As you can see on this screen, people of all ages have a smile. Smile is one of the most purest forms of expression. It not only shows emotional well being, but also physical well being. And our goal with Osho and SmileSip is for people to have good oral health into their hundreds. With life expectancy being what it, where it's at. planning for in the future.

Living till 100 is a very reasonable goal. We want to make sure that you are doing that with a healthy smile, a full set of teeth, and not having to spend thousands and thousands at the dentist and having to repair conditions that are completely preventable. So we see SmileSip as being an important part of your oral hair, oral care routine and oral health prevention.

One of the great advantages of SmileSip is because it is in a powder sachet form, you just add it to your water and you can enjoy the benefits all day. SmileSip is recommended by dentists, and I'll get into our alliance with Dental Health Australia shortly. With the multiple benefits for SmileSip, we're talking about preventing tooth loss, preventing enamel and dentine erosion and decay, and helping to prevent gum disease as well. And our unique blend of ingredients does that. SmileSip actually helps you smile brightly every day. So every day we consume things that may stain the teeth. Things like coffee, tea red wine, etc.

The unique blend of our ingredients actually helps to prevent those stains from sticking to teeth. So literally will help you smile brightly. One of those awkward social situations when you might, be experiencing bad breath or, I'll go into breath later on, but we tend to have to spit out every single product that we consume that we are using to treat bad breath. Why is that? It's literally because those traditional ingredients are not intended for ingestion. With our blend of ingredients, everyone at food grade It is not only good for, preventing all of those oral health aspects we discussed and helping to manage bad breath, but it's so good for you, you literally drink it, and it's great for gut health too. Bacteria is a huge problem in the mouth. Literally, there are over 400 different types of bacteria.

Literally billions of each type of bacteria each form, species. And those various bacteria, have, some cause dental decay, some cause gum disease. And when, there's a very fine microbiome in the mouth, an oral environment that we need to balance and to maintain that healthy oral environment, It means we're trying to reduce the impact of the bad bacteria and try and balance the effect of the good. So many of the general medical conditions that, we're aiming to treat and manage things like cardiovascular disease strokes Alzheimer's disease, a lot of these have their origins in the mouth. When we see a bit of bleeding gums or, or blood in that basin after you've brushed or flushed your teeth. That is not normal. If you were to touch your skin, and you would find that you've got a bleeding occurring, you would go to the doctor.

But a lot of people just think bleeding gums is normal. As a dentist, let me tell you, that is literally infection, and that bacteria that is in your mouth is gaining access to your body through that bit of blood. So with SmileSafe, what we're trying to do is not only provide all those nice kind of aesthetic well being aspects of Good oral health such as your fresh breath clean mouth.

We're trying to prevent the long term impacts of this bacteria on your body Smile sip also helps to manage and treat a dry mouth I'll go into the ingredients in a moment But dry mouth is such a huge problem a lot of people will just think It's just normal a dry mouth like I've got maybe a little bit right now speaking in front of all of you Or you can get a dry mouth when exercising But it's often a a natural consequence as well, as our salivary glands don't produce enough saliva as we mature. Some people might experience it because of illness or medications. But a dry mouth is more than just an inconvenience. It means that the bacteria in your mouth is not being neutralized and is not being washed away by the naturally occurring saliva. Also means that bacteria is persisting longer. and contributes to bad breath as well. So that's why you might notice, bad breath in the morning. That kind of morning breath literally is because you don't have that saliva there. So you're just smelling the bacteria.

So smile step is a great addition to helping to neutralize the effect of bacteria in the mouth. There's other aspects of, dry mouth as I briefly discussed there have other consequences as well. So If we don't have saliva to help to neutralize the oral environment, we're also experiencing things like more frequent oral irritations you can get a dry sore tongue as well. It can impact your ability to speak properly. Because there's so much there's so much good stuff in your natural saliva, such as enzymes to break down your food. If you don't have healthy flowing saliva, that can also impact your digestion. As we find in more mature patients or just the general population, that has an impact on your ability to enjoy solid food in later life. By keeping the saliva healthy with something like SmileSip, and just incorporating that into your routine, it has greater impacts later on in life.

Also, one of the other handy things I find with SmileSip and DryMouth, it's great for long haul plane travel. So it cleans the mouth you arrive at your destination fresh, as opposed to that kind of furry feeling that you will notice without it. As far as dry mouth is concerned, we say that SmileSip hydrates the mouth better than water. So by adding this to your water, you will notice that there's actually a bit of a thickness or a viscosity to SmileSip. And that actually has a couple of functions. First of all, it's super moisturizing for the mouth. But also that viscosity keeps the ingredients, all those functional active ingredients in the mouth for longer. So you're not just having a drink and then that's having no effect, in the mouth and just bypassing going straight to the gut.

Even though it's good for gut health, we want to keep those actives in the mouth for longer. As a dentist I have seen the many complications of poor oral health over time. And so I've spent 10 years in researching and developing this product. And I see the mouth is truly the gateway to long life, general systemic health. You can't have a healthy body unless the entry point to the body is healthy. We are very fortunate that Dental Health Australia, one of the most recognised oral health promotion organisations in Australia, has given SmileStip their endorsement of sealer approval. Dental Health Australia is made up of academics and the people that lectured me at university 20 years ago researchers and board members, and so they're seeing the The combination of our ingredients is not only being good for your oral health, but something that can promote longer term general health. We say put SmileSip ahead of, choosing other drinks, so ahead of your sugary or acidic drinks, and also as a way to supplement your oral health routine through the day. Every single ingredient in SmileSip is functional. We do not put a filler ingredient in there. When we say functional, it means it has been chosen because of how it impacts your general health, your oral health, and is backed by research. Not just by me, but research that has going back decades. And is recognized by dentists and oral health organizations as having benefits.

So these are prebiotics, they're naturally occurring ingredients, and not only do they have a moisturising effect in the mouth, they also hold the ingredients in the mouth longer, and they help to enhance that saliva flow as well. They also help to prevent plaque sticking to teeth, which of course in turn will help reduce tartar build up. Smilesick contains zinc as well, which helps in relieving, your bad breath, and also helps to prevent dental decay and tartar formation. We use erythritol as well, which does impart a sweetness. It's a natural prebiotic ingredient but also helps to prevent dental decay by preventing plaque seeking tattoos.

We use folic acid and vitamin E, which, people that have folic acid and vitamin E deficiencies tend to be more susceptible to oral ulcers. SmileSleep is actually really soothing for those people. Vitamin D, as we know, is great for bone health, but also helps to prevent cavities and decay formation. Our superhero ingredient, though, is xylitol. So xylitol comes from the Finnish birch tree. It tastes sweet, so it is often used as a substitute for sugar. But don't mistake it with being an artificial sweetener. Xylitol actually stops streptococcus mutants, which is the bacteria mainly implicated in dental decay, from sticking to teeth.

So by doing that, it disrupts It's the way that bacteria metabolises in the mouth, so it helps to neutralise the acids that bacteria produce and also in turn preventing dental decay. It contributes as a mouth moisturiser as well so the dental associations across the world have recommended that you consume 8 grams of xylitol per day to prevent dental decay. We're talking about children's oral health. As a dentist, I see these problems every single day, where families think they're making the right choices for, children's diets.

Even if they are restricting sugars. There's a trend these days for vitamin gummies. Literally, ascorbic acid wrapped in sugar. And there's occasions when I have to fill ten teeth on a two or three year old child. And that is something that is completely preventable. We are very fortunate in Australia that we can drink our, fresh water out of the tap. But out of the 195 countries in the whole world, there are only 50 countries in the world that you can drink the water coming out of that tap. And of those countries, Only 27 have the added protection of fluoride, as is recognised by many dental associations as being beneficial for teeth.

The thing is that xylitol is a fantastic substitute for those people not exposed to fluoride, or aren't consuming fluoride in, their other dental products, but when it comes to, how are people consuming their drinks? Now, there are 8. 1 billion people in the world when I checked Google again last night. And of those 8. 1 billion, there's only 410 million that have access to water that is coming out of a tap in a drinkable form. So the rest of the population of the world is relying on bottled water. So what are we doing on a regular basis to supplement the oral benefits? You're basically taking Managing that in between periods, between brushing in the morning and brushing at night. SmileSip, when added to your bottled water, can provide, of course, your, through the day, oral health, and those immediate benefits, but also longer lasting benefits, such as preventing dental decay in children and their experience of negative dentistry at a young age.

And of course, save the parents. thousands and thousands of dollars in having to manage this preventable problem. Aside from sugary substances causing dental problems, one of the big issues that I wanted to solve for was the pH of what we drink. What we know is that enamel, the white outer part of our tooth, which is the hardest the hardest mineral in the body, will dissolve at a pH of 6. 7. And once you dissolve through that layer, the layer underneath the dentine dissolves at 5. 5. Now, anything that we consume that's under a pH of 5. 5 is literally going to dissolve your teeth. And it's not going to happen overnight, but by the time we're in our 60s and if we're living to our hundreds, then we're not left with very much tooth enamel to play with.

Even many bottled waters are sitting at a pH of between 4 and 5. So if 95 percent of the world is reliant on bottled water, and they are getting their bottled water in a format that's acidic, that's going to have a negative dental impact. Many of the bottled drinks that we'll consume, packaged drinks, they're in a range of 2 to 4. If we can solve for sugar and for acidity, I'm not going to need to treat so many of these preventable dental problems, which will actually make me really happy as a dentist. I want you to be able to keep your teeth for life. This is a scary reality, as I mentioned. I'm just going to glaze over that slide because not everyone wants to see that, but that is what we're trying to prevent.

Now, going from, childhood years to mature years SmileSip is something that, as I said, can be added to your water to still provide those, um, anti tick decay, and preventing gum gum problem issues. But we want to be able to maintain that healthy saliva flow. I know in, my, my parents generation, there are people in nursing homes who don't get adequate dental care. They're reliant on nurses to brush their teeth, which unfortunately doesn't always happen to, a fantastic level of efficacy. Mouthwashes aren't suitable because it means that they have to spit out, which can often be unpleasant for nurses to have to clean up. And chewing gum is an aspiration hazard, and they don't often brush their teeth well. SmileSleep is a great option because it's providing a drink that they enjoy in a format that is not only providing enjoyment, but also a functional benefit and a preventive benefit too. The mouth is the gateway to your body. SmileSleep. And as we discussed before, if we're wanting to prevent the downstream issues, things like heart disease, strokes the, the implications for Alzheimer's disease, and even aspiration of bacteria leading to pneumonia originating, that bacteria originating in the mouth, we need to be looking to our oral health routines.

Our oral health routines have not changed all that much in 80 years. Since Listerine came around which, it's a very popular product with fantastic marketing, but these products that are high in chemicals that you need to spit out need to rethink. And that's where SmileSip comes into the equation. Not only as an oral health routine product, but also as, an enjoyable drink that can give you benefits through the day. SmileSip is based on science that is going back decades. It is just now packaged in a way that you can have this every single day and, obtain those benefits not only as a drink, but as a change up to your oral health routine. So we want you to sip your way through healthy sip your way through to a healthy life, a healthy smile. We want you to love your smile into your hundreds.
